Quick Write:
If I can change anything about myself as a student it will be procrastination. I would stop leaving things for last minute so that I won't have a lot to do right before it's due. I want to get to the point where I can have it done way before it's due.
Reflection:
It's all about effort. For example I want to change a certain characteristic about myself so I have to put in the effort to change it. Which ties in with Mindset because she said "They knew that human qualities, such as intellectual skills, could be cultivated through effort. And that's what they were doing---getting smarter." To me the author is saying that because they used effort to do whatever it was like deciding not to procrastinate is what makes you smarter.
I agree with Maylene work. It's not a good thing to leave things for the last minute. Then you will just have a bunch of stuff to do. And you will just rush to get it done since you have others papers to be done.
ReplyDeleteA way you finish something before is due .Is always staying on task just worry about that not nothing else.
ReplyDeleteYes, it definitely is all about effort. You can't fail if you try because failure is only temporary, as you know. Effort is what makes YOU such a great student.
ReplyDeleteI am a terrible procrastinator as well although not nearly as bad as I was when I was your age. I know now that I had a fixed mindset at the time. I prorastinated because it gave me a built in excuse if I failed: "I didn't do well because I did it at the last minute."
I stumbled over the last sentence in your reflection--had to read it a few times before I understood what you were trying to say. People not familiar with this class would need more context--explain what you are writing about.
